About The Biomedica conference

The Biomedica conference is an initiative led by Syrian scientists and professionals committed to rebuilding scientific bridges between researchers inside Syria and the global scientific community. Focused on biomedical sciences and cutting-edge research, the conference aims to foster collaboration, exchange knowledge, and highlight innovative work carried out by Syrian researchers worldwide. By bringing together experts, students, and professionals across disciplines, the conference creates a platform for scientific dialogue, mentorship, and partnership. Our goal is to contribute to a thriving research ecosystem in Syria—one that supports discovery, innovation, and long-term scientific growth.

Target Group

The conference is designed for 200 Syrian university students, primarily from the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Science.
To promote nationwide participation, the conference will provide 8 travel grants for students coming from universities outside Damascus (2 per university).

Duration

The conference will span three days, featuring:

  • Scientific lectures
  • Discussion panels
  • Poster presentations
  • Specialized workshops

This structure reflects the format of internationally recognized scientific meetings.

The program will cover three major scientific tracks aligned with global research priorities:

  • Oncology and Immunology
  • Pharmacology
  • Molecular Biology and Genetics

About the Organizers

Dr. Mila Daoud

A postdoctoral researcher in Germany specializing in cancer research. With extensive academic experience and scientific mentorship expertise, she is committed to supporting Syrian students and advancing the scientific community through the Syrian Technocrats organization.

Alice Mostafa

A PhD candidate in Immunology in Belgium with research experience in Russia and Belgium. She is an active member of Syrian Technocrats across the Health, Research, and Culture divisions, contributing to the organization’s scientific and educational initiatives.

Together, they represent a model of Syrian scientific excellence returning to serve their community and paving the way for a new generation of researchers.

Venue

The conference will take place at the Reda Saeed Hall at Damascus University, one of the most prominent academic venues in the country. Known for hosting major scientific and cultural events, Reda Saeed Hall offers a central location, a professional setting, and an ideal environment for meaningful scientific exchange.
