{"id":624,"date":"2026-08-23T14:31:49","date_gmt":"2026-08-23T14:31:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/syrian-biomedica.com\/?page_id=624"},"modified":"2026-08-23T15:55:42","modified_gmt":"2026-08-23T15:55:42","slug":"bassam-janji-abstract","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/syrian-biomedica.com\/ar\/bassam-janji-abstract\/","title":{"rendered":"Bassam Janji Abstract"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Bassam Janji<\/strong><\/h1>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The Next Frontier in Cancer Immunotherapy: Rational Combination Strategies to Expand Therapeutic Impact<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Cancer immunotherapy, notably immune checkpoint blockade (ICB), has revolutionized cancer treatment and marked a paradigm shift in oncology. Yet, despite these successes, many patients experience only transient benefits or no benefit at all, highlighting the urgent need for strategies to broaden the impact of immunotherapy. A major focus of current immuno-oncology (IO) research is the development of rational ICB-based combination therapies. Although numerous combinations have been tested clinically, most yield only modest survival benefits and are often accompanied by significant toxicities. Designing more effective IO strategies requires addressing three key questions: what to combine, how to combine, and when to combine.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Innovative IO approaches are now exploring combinations of multiple ICBs with small molecules that target tumor-intrinsic pathways or immunosuppressive mechanisms within the tumor microenvironment.
